Arsenal Back on Top After 1-0 Win Over Manchester City

Gabriel Martinelli Strikes Late to Earn Three Points

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal regained their position at the top of the Premier League table on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium.

The match was evenly contested throughout, but it was the Gunners who emerged victorious thanks to a late goal from Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian forward latched onto a loose ball in the City penalty area and fired into the bottom corner in the 79th minute.

The win was all the more impressive given that Arsenal were without a number of key players, including Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Kieran Tierney. However, Mikel Arteta's side showed tremendous character and resilience to grind out the victory.

William Saliba was outstanding for Arsenal in defence, while Bukayo Saka and Martinelli were a constant threat going forward. Erling Haaland was largely anonymous for City, but Kevin De Bruyne did have a few chances to equalise in the second half.

The result means Arsenal move back to the top of the table, three points clear of Manchester City with a game in hand. Arteta's side will be hoping to continue their good form when they travel to Aston Villa on Saturday.
