2024 WNBA Draft Results: Indiana Fever Select Caitlin Clark First Overall

The star-studded 2024 WNBA Draft tipped off in style Monday as the Indiana Fever selected Iowa superstar and back-to-back Naismith College Player of the Year Caitlin Clark with the first overall pick.

Clark, a 6-foot guard, averaged 27.4 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game in her final season at Iowa. She was a two-time All-American and was named the Big Ten Player of the Year three times.

The Fever, who finished with the worst record in the WNBA last season, also selected Dayton's Tenin Magassa with the second overall pick. Magassa, a 6-foot-3 center, was the Atlantic 10 Player of the Year and a second-team All-American in her final season with the Flyers.

The New York Liberty selected LSU's Angel Reese with the third overall pick. Reese, a 6-foot-3 forward, was the SEC Player of the Year and a second-team All-American in her final season with the Tigers.

The Dallas Wings selected Louisville's Aaliyah Boston with the fourth overall pick. Boston, a 6-foot-5 center, was the ACC Player of the Year and a first-team All-American in her final season with the Cardinals.

The remaining first-round picks were as follows:

  • 7. Washington Mystics: Haley Jones, Stanford

  • 10. Phoenix Mercury: Laila Phelia, Maryland
  • 11. Las Vegas Aces: Ayanna Smith, Stanford
  • 12. Connecticut Sun: Aubrey Griffin, UConn
