Postecoglou Confirms Spurs Midfielder Will Miss Coventry Efl Cup Clash

Postecoglou confirms Spurs midfielder will miss Coventry EFL Cup clash

Celtic boss provides injury update ahead of midweek trip to Championship side

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Oliver Skipp will miss his side's EFL Cup third round clash with Celtic on Wednesday due to a knock.

Skipp has been a key player for Spurs this season, making 11 appearances in all competitions.

However, he was forced off in the first half of Tottenham's 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Wednesday with a knock.

Speaking ahead of Celtic's trip to Coventry, Postecoglou confirmed that Skipp will not be available for the game.

"Skippy has a knock," the Celtic boss said. "He won't be available for the game tomorrow night."

Postecoglou also provided an update on the fitness of defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has been out injured since the end of August.

"Cameron is getting closer," Postecoglou said. "He's back training with the team now, but he's still not quite ready for a game."

Celtic will be hoping to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League when they face Coventry on Wednesday.

The Scottish champions have won their last two games in the Scottish Premiership, but they will be facing a tough test against a Coventry side who are currently 11th in the Championship.

Postecoglou is expecting a tough game against Coventry, but he is confident that his team can get the win.

"We know it's going to be a tough game," Postecoglou said. "Coventry are a good side and they're in good form."

"But we're confident that we can go there and get the win."
